Preservation Forsyth Internship – A Preservation/Public History Immersive Experience
Looking for Spring 2021 intern, but willing to discuss Summer and Fall 2021 as well
Preservation Forsyth is looking for an intern interested in a preservation/public history immersive experience. This will be a “hands on” internship incorporating historic research, National Register Historic District exploration, possible experience with a public history display, and assistance in creating online historic tours. Our intern will also interact with professional Preservationists while exploring the nonprofit world.
We are specifically looking for an intern for Spring 2021, but are happy to discuss Summer and Fall 2021 as well.
Founded in 2007, Preservation Forsyth is a nonprofit membership organization created to promote, educate about, advocate for, and protect historic resources in our community. Preservation Forsyth is the only countywide organization devoted to the preservation of historic resources, coordinating with both the Historic Resources Commission and our local community preservation organizations. We work to increase public awareness of the economic, cultural, and social benefits of preservation which include: a revitalized downtown, stabilized neighborhoods and property values, a robust heritage tourism strategy, an increased local tax base, and advocacy for forgotten and difficult histories. We view preservation as a priceless community asset! — Martha Canipe
